The Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation is proud to show support for Corporate Philanthropy Day, February 26. On this day we show our gratitude to the many local businesses for their contributions to our community.
Corporate Philanthropy refers to the charitable contributions and community service activities a company voluntarily undertakes to improve society. We appreciate the businesses that have invested in NCCF and our community through financial contributions, donations of products, in-kind services and technical assistance, employee volunteerism, and other business transactions.
As Henry Ford once said, “The highest use of capital is not to make more money but to make money to do more for the betterment of life.”
Since our inception in 1986, we have had the privilege of partnering with local businesses for our betterment and that of northern Chautauqua County. “We all know that the people in northern Chautauqua County are community-minded. Neighbors help neighbors, and everyone pitches in when there is a need. This generosity extends to our local businesses and corporations who regularly pay it forward.” Diane Hannum, Executive Director.
The NCCF administers grantmaking programs for two local businesses, both of whom are well-known for their charitable activities. Lake Shore Savings Bank’s “Community Reinvestment Fund” and DFT’s “DFT Communications/Maytum Family Community Betterment Fund” support charitable projects throughout their respective service areas. Local businesses support our general fund through business memberships thereby assuring that maximum dollars are available for grantmaking in the community. NCCF is also grateful to local companies that provide in-kind services. Johnson, Mackowiak, and Associates generously provide NCCF with accounting services above and beyond contracted services, Turftenders, local lawn care experts, have kept NCCF’s lawn green and weed free for several years while our wonderful neighbors, Hometown Insurance, have kindly provided mowing service. Arkwright Printing gives us publication guidance and general printing support while G&E Tents supports us during fair week by supplying tables and chairs for our booth. Cherry Creek Inn was generous to us during our Giving Tuesday campaign. In support of our BICEP program, Paul Benson and Sherry Lantz both provided grant writing training to nonprofits at no cost. Many local businesses have stepped forward during our Applebee’s Flapjack Breakfast Fundraiser by kindly contributing baskets and items for the basket raffle (the business list is on our website, www.nccfoundation.org/nccf-flapjack-fundraiser).
